Rhythms Magazine readers voted this album best Australian Blues release for 2003. The band comprise the brilliant harmonica of Jim Conway, Dave Wray on Vocals/Sax, Arne Hanna Vocals/Guitar, Don Hopkins - Hammond/Piano/ Accordion/ Vocals and Andrew Byrnes on Drums/percussion and Paul Burton on Bass. Darren Jack Band -
Don't Mess Up A Good Thing / Live At the Bridge Hotel
Not to be missed live and exciting blues guitar from the Darren Jack Band. With Darren on lead/vocals, the dynamic Calvin Welch on drums, and smooth bass of Rory Brown. This album features the classic "To Know You Is To Love You" and "I Gotta Know". Darren's own songs and there rendition of some classic favourites including Cream's "Outside Woman Blues" is a highlight of their live set. Roddy Gordon - Love & Blues
Experienced SA blues musician and songwriter Roddy Gordon has formed a 3 piece band with drummer Tom Stehlik (ex-Red Gum/Paul Kelly) and son, Lyndon Gordon on bass. The album has a blend of folk, blues and roots music that demonstrate the bands diversity with 8 superb tracks originally penned by Roddy and together with Jane Gordon, plus 2 traditional songs including an excellent version of the blues classic St. James Infirmary. Winner of 2006 Instrumental/ Blues and Roots and Presenters Choice 2005 and Instrumental 2004 categories in the ABC Newcastle Music Awards.
